HIS SPECIALTY/PRIMARY APPROACH
With his unique, strength-based approach to treating ADD, Dr. Hallowell has essentially redefined the condition, and its prognosis, for millions of children, teens and adults –along with the parents, teachers, spouses and colleagues who interact with them on a daily basis. Dr. Hallowell, who was himself diagnosed with ADD at the age of 31, believes the condition is often misunderstood and, consequently, mismanaged. His mission, and the mission of all the Hallowell Centers, is to educate patients, along with the general public, about how the ADD brain works. It’s not that the ADD brain doesn’t process information; it simply processes the information differently. Understanding the “how and the why” paves the way for self-empowerment and the achievement of one’s goals.
